5 Social Media Apps to Make Your Social Media Pop

Did you know that adding a relevant image to your content on social media results in 94% more views 1 than content without relevant images? And posts with images produce 650% higher engagement than text-only posts. So, it’s a no-brainer to use images and video in your posts.

Luckily phone cameras are pretty decent these days, but if you really want your social media to pop and stand out from the (very densely populated) crowd, you need to up your game.

These are the 5 apps I use that help my social media posts look the best they can be.

1. Unfold is great for Instagram and Facebook stories. Helping you to create truly beautiful and memorable stories by using their templates to add multiple pictures and styles to your posts. The basic app is free, or you can pay for more options.

2. Snapseed is great for editing photos, you can enhance your photos to make them look so much better than the basic shot in your camera roll, especially photos taken in low light.

3. ColorStory is from the team behind A Beautiful Mess (which you may remember if you’ve been on the internet as long as I have!) and is another great photo editing app, with plenty of preset filters and the ability to make dark dingy photos look as beautiful (or better) than real life.

4. InShot is a necessity if you ever need to edit video. iMovie is great for Mac, but if you’re a Windows person the inbuilt video editor is pretty useless, and after much searching, I discovered InShot and haven’t looked back.

It’s intuitive, plenty of options and great for making Reels, TikToks and editing and clipping together videos.

5. Canva is a website and app I probably don’t need to introduce to many people, it’s so widely used now, but is still absolutely fantastic for creating infographics, social media posts, in fact, pretty much anything (including presentations, PowerPoint who?). However, not everyone knows that it’s both an app and a website. The app doesn’t have as much usability as the website, and isn’t as intuitive, so definitely explore and get used to the website first. The app is fantastic though for either transferring things to your phone, or making quick edits on the go.

There we go! My top 5 apps that I use for social media posts. Are there any that I’ve forgotten? Let me know in the comments!
