What on earth is a funnel and why is everyone talking about them?
“Funnel” can feel a bit jargony, but essentially what it refers to is the process of a customer journey.
So what happens when a customer enters your world? When they follow you on Instagram? When they sign up to your mailing list? When they end up on your website?
Do they get a discount code for example? Or a freebie? What happens to your customer can be as simple or as complex as you like!
At all stages of your funnel, whatever it looks like, you want to take your customer through the know/like/trust journey - there’s a lot of different ways that this is described, but we’re essentially looking at a prospective person that may want to spend money with you. What do they need to know?
So it can be useful to map out your customer’s journey from discovery to spending money with you. And if you’re struggling to find inspiration, look at a recent purchase you made. How did that journey go?
