6 Organisation Tips to Make Your Life Easier

I don’t know about you, but I find life really difficult when it’s all a muddle. It’s often the same for my clients too.

Thankfully, being organised is something that comes pretty naturally to me, and over the years I have refined some of the things I do to ensure that I’m always at the top of my organisation game.

Here are some of my best tips to help you keep organised:

  1. Lists – I honestly don’t know how I would cope without a list. I write a weekly to-do list rather than a daily one because of the hours I work. Having everything all together in one place makes sense for me. At the end of each week, I write my list for the next week whilst it’s still fresh in my mind and it means I can quickly settle back into work-mode come Monday.

  2. Tools – I utilise a range of online tools such as Trello, Asana and Evernote. But I absolutely love a notebook and pen too.

  3. Eat the frog – for me, I start with the worst jobs and reward myself with the more enjoyable tasks.

  4. Time blocking – setting an amount time to focus on each task means that I reduce the chance of being distracted and work as efficiently as possible.

  5. Stay out of emails – one of the tasks that I time block are my emails. It’s so easy to get caught up each day with emails as and when they arrive. The best solution I’ve found, is to set aside a chunk of time each day to deal with them rather than answering them as they arrive throughout the day.

  6. Outsource (but I would say that, wouldn’t I!) – the best way to manage your time and keep organised is to utilise the time and skills of others. Delegate those repetitive and tedious jobs so you can focus on the tasks that best utilise you and your talents. Just imagine how nice I would be to cut down your to-do list whilst getting more done…
